AgilePath Roadmap

Let users create reusable templates to standardize how alt text is generated across their site.

Detail:  Templates could include dynamic placeholders (e.g., post title, category) and would help maintain consistent branding and SEO structure across images.

Allow users to schedule alt text generation for specific days/times to reduce server load.

Detail: Admins could set a daily or weekly schedule (e.g., off-peak hours) for bulk generation, avoiding spikes in resource usage and improving performance.

Add support for automatically generating alt text for product images in WooCommerce.

Detail: The plugin would detect product images and generate alt text using product titles, categories, and attributes, improving search visibility and accessibility in online stores.

Allow users to generate alt text in multiple languages, based on their site or media settings.

Detail: This feature would enable global accessibility by letting users select languages per site or image. The plugin would then send prompts in the chosen language to the AI model to return appropriate alt text.

Improve plugin speed and reduce memory usage during bulk generation processes. Detail: Includes code refactoring, queue handling improvements, and better API handling to support large media libraries without timeouts.

A central dashboard to review, approve, or edit all generated alt texts before saving them.

Detail: Users would see a preview of each image, suggested alt text, and actions like “approve,” “edit,” or “regenerate.” This reduces errors and ensures better oversight.

Corrected a bug where the upgrade button didn’t respond on some WordPress themes due to JavaScript conflicts.

Explore AI models that analyze surrounding content to generate more accurate image descriptions.

Detail: This could include parsing page headings, paragraphs, or captions near the image to provide context-aware alt text suggestions.

Fixed a bug where retrying a failed alt text generation task deducted multiple credits instead of one.

Support syncing alt text with popular CDN providers for better SEO and accessibility.

Detail: This would ensure that alt text updates are properly pushed to CDNs like Cloudflare or Jetpack to reflect changes across cached content.

Allow users to choose a different language for each image when generating alt text. Detail: Adds a dropdown on the image detail screen to override the default language, useful for multilingual posts and international content.

Enable filtering in the media library by images with or without alt text.

Detail: Adds filtering options like “Missing Alt Text,” “Generated by Plugin,” or “Manually Added,” making it easier to manage large libraries.

Keep a log of past generated texts to allow users to roll back or compare versions. Detail: A version history for each image’s alt text, showing date, generated copy, and whether it was edited or approved, useful for auditing and consistency.

Ensure manually entered alt text is never overwritten during bulk or automatic generation.

Detail: Adds checks that lock user-written alt text from being replaced unless explicitly allowed, protecting manual SEO and branding efforts.

Add granular control over who can access and use the plugin features.

Detail: Admins can restrict bulk generation, language changes, or alt text editing to certain roles (e.g., Editors but not Contributors).

Improve compatibility and UI for users working in the block editor.

Detail: Adds alt text tools directly inside the block editor sidebar or image block toolbar, reducing the need to switch screens.

Prevent the same alt text from being used across all instances of an image.

Detailed: Alt text now varies based on the image’s context in each post, ensuring more relevant and accurate descriptions for reused images.

Show detailed error messages and troubleshooting tips during failed generation attempts.

Detail: Users will see explanations like “API limit reached” or “Invalid image type” along with suggestions to resolve the issue quickly.

Implemented a credit-based trial system to let new users test features before subscribing.

Detail: New users receive free credits that let them generate alt text for a limited number of images, helping them evaluate the plugin’s value before committing.

Updated refund policy based on usage and credits consumed.

Detail: Users can request a refund within 14 days of their first payment, with full or partial refunds depending on how many credits they’ve used.

Redesigned settings page for easier navigation and improved user experience.

Detail: Grouped options logically (e.g., API, language, generation settings), added tooltips, and simplified toggles for a cleaner interface.

Alt text now generates automatically on image upload, insert, or featured image selection.

Detail: Seamless integration with WordPress image actions ensures alt text is generated immediately without manual steps.

Users can now upgrade their plan from the dashboard easily without needing support.

Detail: A clear upgrade button and plan comparison section helps users switch plans quickly, with changes reflected instantly.
